Welcome to the Harris County Optometric Society web site, the source for Optometric information in Houston and the Northern Gulf Coast of Texas. The Harris County Optometric Society is the professional association representing optometrists throughout the Houston metropolitan area. The Society has been in existence since 1951 and is the local chapter of the American and Texas Optometric Associations.

Members of the Harris County Optometric Society offer public and professional education and maintain the highest standards of visual care.

Our optometrists serve children, teens, adults, senior citizens, and people with special visual needs.

Your optometrist may provide: comprehensive eye examinations, prescription eyeglasses, sunglasses, contact lenses and fittings, treatment for conditions such as "red eye" and allergies, removal of foreign objects from the eye, glaucoma diagnosis and treatment, therapy for binocular vision disorders, therapy for vision-related learning difficulties, devices for sub-normal vision (magnifiers, optical aids).
